Closing the Implementation Gap: Obstacles in Reaching Net-Zero Pledges in the EU and Germany

A new publication by Cathrin Zengerling in collaboration with her colleagues has been released ahead of print in the ‘Politics and Governance’ journal.
The next issue of the ‘Politics and Governance’ journal is going to include an article about current problems of implementing net zero policies in the EU and Germany. The article has been written by Grischa Perino, Johannes Jarke-Neuert, Felix Schenuit, Martin Wickel and Cathrin Zengerling and discusses the implementation gap of the climate policiea: there are major barriers to establishing strict environmental policies. In order to improve their efficiency, economic, legal, and political viewpoints are applied. A particular focus lies on the ‘Fit-for-55’ packages by the EU and the 2021 Federal Climate Change Act in Germany. Read the open-access article here.
